Here's what some readers have said...

I liked this book. Cain is the first vampire,it goes back in time and to the now. The characters in the story are interesting. Can't wait for the next book.

If you like action, mysteries and myths, then this is a book for you. The main character, Cain, the world's first murder, is creatively cast in a different light. His immortality haunts him, his past constantly creeps into his consciousness. The writer communicates his profound anguish and the basic need we all have-to belong to someone. His isolation and disconnection is believable. By the time the book ended, I wanted to hold Cain and comfort him. This book is unpredictable in every possible way. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, I was taken down a new path, full of adventure and action. Other character's, with rich lives of their own, intertwine with Cain's in ways I will not divulge, so as to not spoil the story. If you think you knew everything there was to know about vampires, then read this story, you will not be disappointed! I'm hoping the next book will be available soon.....I'll wait in line at Borders for a copy!

  The Blood of Cain
is another of those books that made me pause when I realized the story centered around the Bible, but like 33 A.D., the story does an excellent job of balancing Christianity and fiction.

Mrs. Gray does a great job of weaving together two separate, but connected stories. On one hand, you have the story of Cain, the first murderer, whose story begins in 8,000 B.C.; on the other hand, you have Teagan, whose story takes place in modern times. The blending, and eventual intersection, of these two stories creates a compelling page-turner, and the ending left me wanting more so I'm glad Book Two, The Arcainians, is being worked on.

In addition to a great story filled with interesting characters, we are given a new vision of 'vampires'. A new, and original, origin is created and the story provides a believable reason as to why there's such a big discrepancy between the immortals of real life and the blood-sucking creatures of the night depicted in books and movies.

It's 8,000 B.C. and Cain is at the deathbed of Lilith, the woman who has been like a mother to him. She knows he is cursed for being the first to spill human blood but she offers him a way to gain immortality, and Cain accepts the gift...although he knows that all gifts come with a price. With Lilith now gone, Cain uses his new gift to explore the world in a quest to seek both redemption and happiness.

In modern times, a different type of quest goes on.

After being attacked and beaten in an alley approximately 100 years ago, Teagan woke to discover he was different. He spent the next century trying to discover who and what he is, hoping to learn the secret of how he came to be transformed. His search, for the most part, provides few answers....until a fateful encounter with Tatiana, a fiery and feisty immortal who claims to be a daughter of Cain. To make Teagan's life even more complicated, she believes him to be a son of Cain.

The Blood of Cain is a great read that does an excellent job of weaving theology and urban fiction together into an interesting story that redefines the vampire genre, and if you're looking for a book that you can really sink your teeth into without having to commit a huge chunk of time to, then this book, at 193 pages, is the perfect book for you.

"I totally loved The Blood of Cain.  It was amazing how you linked things from the Bible to the story line.  I absolutely CANNOT wait for the next book.  I'm ecstatic to find out what really happens to Cain and if Teagan will change his mind.
~ Tracey Keaton - Coolest person ever in Villa Rica, Georgia

"The Blood of Cain in my opinion is WAY better than the Twilight series could ever be.  Instead of letting the story focus on a love story, it focused mostly on Cain trying to understand himself, the world and God's intention toward him.  And the same goes for Teagan.  A love story doesn't fit this description of THIS book. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy life to read a sixteen year old's letter.  I am greatly anticipating your next book The Arcainians.
~Your new fan, Josafa Leite (JLM Late)

"Amazing!! Smartly put, it was like I was there.  A very logical and believable way of putting vampirism, and for a moment I believed it was all real.  It gives the Twilight saga a run for its money."
~Austin Fordham - Temple, GA

"I finished the book about a month ago and passed it along onto one of my colleagues that loves Christian fiction.  It was wonderful!  I can't wait until the next book in the series is released.  I don't know why, but the entire time I thought Teagan was Cain?? Go figure.  I was surprised. Anyway, it was a very interesting and exciting spin off the new vampire craze that seems to be 'in' now.  Let me know when the 2nd is released!  I can't wait to read it!"
~Heather Magwood - Temple, GA

"The Blood of Cain is such a good book!  Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down until I finished it.  It was like I could see and feel everything going on with each of the characters.  I can't wait for the next book to come out."
~Rhonda Spencer - Senoia, GA

      T. L. Gray's "The Blood of Cain" captures the reader from the first sentence. The author's ability to bounce back and forth between the early days of Cain and the current adventures of Teagan is something that could have been distracting, but is achieved with seamless, concise, spell-binding writing.
The story of Cain and his children is one I'd highly recommend, and I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel!

"This is a great read... THE BLOOD OF CAIN!  I just finished it and love ALL the characters.  T.L. Gray has done an amazing job.  I can't wait to read the sequel.  BRAVO!!!  For all you other authors out there, I'm going to start calling T.L. the Verberator!  Writers often don't use that part of speech near enough (instead relying on adjectives and adverbs and too many unimportant nouns.)  Verbs are the only way to get the action going and keep the story moving.  T.L. has figured that out.  Job well done!"

"At first I was wary of any fiction with Biblical roots and so approached this book with apprehension.  As I read it, I found it to be historically and biblically accurate, as well as interesting and fun to read.  The story never diviated from what the Bible actually says.  There is not much to speak of concerning Cain, and T.L. Gray ran with that concept.  The places, current and historical, all exist or existed.  Even the details of the muscle cars are correct.  T.L. puts her own thoughts and spin on a very over-used genre (vampires) and gives it some much needed balance, plausibility and fun. "
~Matthew Hobbs, College Student - Bowdon, GA

" Ms. Gray, you came through my line in Ingles Market in Temple, GA and gave me a copy of your book.  It was AMAZING!  I couldn't put it down.  I can't wait for the next one!
~Carolyn Downing - Temple, GA

"The Blood of Cain is a fantasy thriller that transports the reader back and forth between the early times of original sin and modern-day dilemmas of conscience and existence.
T.L. Gray hooks the reader early on with a very inventive way how vampirism comes into being through biblical interpretation wrapped around historical context.
Teagan Dacre,  a main character, knows he's different from the rest of mankind, but he doesn't know how he got that way.  His "new life" is a blur and a mystery.  It marks him with silver eyes, fast healing and immortality.  It is not until he is confronted by Tatiana Abital, another of his kind, that an explanation unfolds.  They are connected to the infamous and damned Cain from the Bible.  Tatiana seeks Cain for her own reasons.  She takes Teagan with her, thinking he knows where Cain might be, but also, to keep him close since he's new to this "life".  Do they find Cain or other of their kind?  That is the captive intrigue of this roller-coaster fantasy thriller.
I recommend The Blood of Cain with its strong characters, vivid descriptions and bewitching storyline as a must-read!"
~ Michael Lopez - Author of The Sentry - Sacramento, CA

"The Blood of Cain by T.L. Gray is an exciting tale chronicling the life and activities of Cain, son of Adam and Eve, over a period of 10,000 years.  Gray uses a very unique approach to tell the story of the first vampire.  She expertly handles the loneliness of Cain and his desire to create others of his "type", making them his sons and daughters.  The story funnels the two main characters, Cain & Teagan, toward each other over this vast period of time.  The blood price that Cain has paid for a thousand centuries of punishment from God is a thread that runs the entire length of the story.

     The Blood of Cain
is excellent, a must-read story of intrigue, murder, deception and eternal punishment."
~
Marti Norton - Author of Corax Curse - Nacogdoches, TX

"Using Christian theology as a guide, T.L. Gray's first published work expertly picks up where the Bible leaves off to create a fictional account of the villanized Cain's life after he was cast out by God for murdering his brother.  Far from mundane, the tale Gray weaves has the potential to pull in readers of all ages with her uncanny ability to tie a contemporary idea to a story generations of people have grown up listening to on Sunday mornings.  Gray gives us the rest of the story without changing what we already know."

~Spencer Crawford - Editor of The Villa Rican, Newspapers of West Georgia - Carrollton, GA

"The Blood of Cain was a real page turner and kept me up past midnight.  I couldn't put it down.  T.L. Gray did a great job giving us a unique perspective on immortals and how they came to be.  I loved that it started with a character I already knew (Cain) and took it to a new ending."
~Nikky Eisenhuth, Production Manager - Source Doucments and Information, Inc. - Clearwater, FL

     "
I thought the premise of this book (Cain of the Old Testament was the first vampire") was fascinating, and hoped the book would not disappoint!  It didn't!!! Just finished in two days and I thought it was great!!  I'm a Twilight fan, so I think those of you who are will like this book/series also, but a totally different/new take on vampires."
~E. Haney - Amazon.com

"Loved the book!  I was hooked from the beginning.  I am waiting impatiently for the next one!"
~Brenda Smith - Temple, GA

     "
What?  T.L. Gray takes a character from the Bible and turns them into a vampire?! Was there a woman named Lilith in the Bible?  Did Cain ever die? I think this book will cause controversy.  It will make the Christian reader relook at the Bible to see if her facts are accurate (I know... I did.)  And I believe it will cause the non-Christian to do the same.  Just as J.K. Rowling wove a story of love throughout her Harry Potter books, T.L. weaves a story of a loving God and loving Savior.  Is it blatant or in your face?  No!  That's what makes this story so great.  This is a must read for everyone.  I can't wait to see the movie!!!
~
Joanne Mitchell - Temple, GA

"I have read The Blood of Cain and I loved it!  I was intrigued from the beginning reading Cain's story from his point-of-view.  It was a great read and I can't wait for the next installment."
~Jennifer Bright - Tanner Hospital - Villa Rica, GA

"Not being a Twilight fan, I was unsure of what to expect when it came to vampires, but... it was much better than I hoped.  I love the twists of The Blood of Cain and the family trials and tribulations of time past and present.  My only disappointment came when I was left wanting more and waiting to hear what happens next.  I look forward to the next chapter in the lives of the family Cain."
